Position: Community Development
Coordinator
Primary Function
- Working with the Campaign Manager, CEO and
Volunteers to plan and carry out campaign
strategies to meet the United Way’s resource
development goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support annual golf tournament, Maxine
Dehart’s Drive Thru, Uniting the Community Tour
and other special events.
- Assist Campaign Manager in planning and
coordinating Leadership and Thank You events for
workplace campaigns.
- Develop a strategic marketing plan with the
Campaign Manager specifically for Education,
Workplace Campaigns and Leadership
- Develop and provide training with the
Campaign Manager to all Campaign Chairs,
Cabinets, Loaned Representatives and Campaign
Volunteers.
- Participate with the United Way Team in the
development of a strategic plan to set campaign
goals and projections.
- Assist with reports to Campaign Committees
and Board Members.
- Track and report status of existing work
place campaigns and new business using
proprietary United Way Systems.
- Investigate community investment priorities
through primary and secondary research methods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two year diploma in an applicable discipline
(e.g. fundraising, marketing and communications,
sales).
- Two – three year direct fundraising and / or
equivalent level of sales / marketing /
management experience.
- Supervisory and / or experience working with
volunteers at various levels throughout the
community is an asset.
- Research capabilities a definite asset.
- Self-starter with minimal supervision
required.
- Ability to prioritize and problem-solve in
busy environment.
- Experience with Word and Excel.
Term
- Thirty hours (30) per week
- $20 per hour
- Contract position until January 31, 2009
- Possible permanent employment thereafter
